Re: Reviews of some modern fountain pens (will update)
Hello to all fountain pen fans! In 2019, this brand shook the world pen community with its appearance. Of course, it would be more interesting to try the Nautilus model, which from the point of view of design is much more attractive, but the only one Korean store where I found an attractive color completely ignored me. That is, when you are refused, it is of course an unpleasant thing but sometimes understand, but when you are completely ignored, it is much more unpleasant, especially since I asked to purchase for the full price, I was only interested in the possibility of delivery with any variants. So a few days before my latest purchase – Pilot Custom 845 , I happened to see this model for sale and decided to take a chance.
Narwhal Schuylkill 365 Limited Edition Ebonite (made in USA?)
This pen has a straight cylindrical shape with an almost flat tops and made of red-purple woodgrain ebonite. Some sources say that it is red or dark red ebonite, but it is actually red-purple. The body and cap are fully turning on a lathe, not injection molding. Filling system is real piston-filler. Cap on thread, 2 starts thread, opening/closing in 1 and 1/3 turns.

Re: Reviews of some modern fountain pens (will update)
@Andrew, lovely review as usual I love ebonite pens, especially vintage ones. You probably know this but Narwhal changed names to Nahvalur

Be safe :)
Re: Reviews of some modern fountain pens (will update)
Yes, thanks, I like the vintage much more too. I know that the name has changed now, but the official website has remained the same and this model has not changed its name because it is limited and is no longer produced. So I allowed myself to keep the name Narwhal))
Re: Reviews of some modern fountain pens (will update)
Hi! Early some markets did not accept 14K gold as jewelry gold, notably France, so the Montblanc produced 18K nibs for those markets. This model is just one of those. And although I already have several reviews on this model, I decided to make a personal post. I had planned to finish the review on Tuesday, but another missile attack by the Russians plunged us into darkness for 30 hours and left us without heat and water, so I’m only finishing the review now.
Montblanc Meisterstück 146 French edition (made in Germany) from 1990
This tool has the same shape known to us as “cigar-like” shape named Streamlined at the time of its release. The body is made of black plastic, which traditionally glows red on backlight. There is an ink window on the body for monitoring with gray tone. Cap on thread, 4-start thread, full closure in 1 turn. The base of the piston collar made from metal (brass), but internal parts are plastic, including the rod.

Re: Reviews of some modern fountain pens (will update)
Hi friends!
I decided to do a review of the ink, or rather, not just one ink, but the series of inks. So I'm asking for advice on the right place/thread to publish it. Thanks
Re: Reviews of some modern fountain pens (will update)
@Andrew, glad to you know you're ok.
Ink reviews are done, separately for each individual ink, in this sub-forum:

Re: Reviews of some modern fountain pens (will update)
Hello everyone! I haven’t done reviews for a long time, I even miss them a little, but today will be a very short review, because I already have quite a few reviews of this model, it’s just that it has small differences and is made for the French market.
Montblanc Meisterstück 146 French edition (made in Germany) from 1994
This tool has the same shape known to us as “cigar-like” shape named Streamlined at the time of its release. The body is made of black precious resin, which traditionally glows red on backlight. There is a striped ink window on the body like in modern LeGrand models. Cap on thread, 4-start thread, full closure in 1 turn. The sleeve of the piston mechanism is made entirely of metal (brass), unlike the previous 146.

Thank you! So our victory is definitely ahead. Now we are experiencing some difficulties with electricity, but this is not the main thing for us

If you consider the Montblanc 149 an oversize large pen, I can tell you that you simply have not seen large pens)). Today is a review of really oversized pen.
Lotus Maharadja in Nikko Red (made in India) product code 35
Earlier, in describing pens, we could find a comparison shape with the shape of a cigar, so the shape of this pen is a real cigar also by size. The material of tool is red Nikko Japanese ebonite. Filling system is cartridge-converter, international format. Cap on thread, one-start thread, for open\closing used 1 and 3/4 turns.

Hello community! Couldn’t resist against my second color scheme favorite after Aka-Tamenuri, so today is another Urushi beauty in bright red (Aka). I don’t know how it happens, when it seems that the color is simple, and the surface is just glossy, like plastic or resin, but in your own hands and by own eyes, the pen looks so attractive that just can’t stop yourself from buying.
Wancher DreamPen True Urushi Red w|18K JoWo nib B size (?) true craftsmanship
By shape, it is the same form as the previous Dream Pen Aka-Tamenuri – is a real cigar made from black ebonite and covered by Red Urushi (Aka – 赤) lacquer (by the way, this cover is more attractive than on Pilot 845 Vermillion). The filling system is cartridge-converter by international format. Cap on thread, close/open in 1 turn. The design of the cap is clipless and have inside a second spring-loaded cap to seal the nib.

Re: Reviews of some modern fountain pens (will update)
When a few years ago these pens released on Cultpens as Nautilus Rosewood design, I really wanted to buy them, but I was disturbed by the pink sheen, which I didn’t really like, but the pens still sold out very quickly. For some time I was sad that I didn’t dare to buy it when I can, because I didn’t like the later shades Pelagia which appeared after. Last year, I accidentally saw an ebonite model with a wood texture and immediately realized that this is exactly what I was waiting for. Unfortunately, the experience of communicating and buying from the seller who presented these pens was not pleasant, but I really wanted to try this pen after Schuylkill, so I passed all the ways, and now I am ready to share it to you.
Narwhal Nautilus Cumberland Limited Edition for Korea (made in China) 03050141
The shape of this pen is straight, cigar-like with rounded ends, the size is quite large like Montblanc 149 or Pelikan M1000. The body material is ebonite with a Woodgrain texture named company by the Cumberland. The filling system is real piston-filler. Cap on thread with two threads, close/open in 2 turns. This model is limited to 58 pieces, but not numbered for each pen.

Re: Reviews of some modern fountain pens (will update)
Hello everybody! I do not consider myself a collector, but even I have pens that I do not use, but consider it necessary to have them. Mostly from these pens I need to service or customize other people’s pens, but there are also iconic pens. This model is just like that. I don’t remember how long I’ve had it, probably about 4-5 years and I kept trying to do review, but every time I put it off for some reason. But now her time has come and there was a reason for that))
rOtring 600 Gold (made in Germany) R502 681
The shape of this pen is quite difficult to describe, but in general it is a hexagonal in profile and almost repeats the well-known mechanical pencil, which was desired by many engineers and architects. In the first catalog, I found a reference to the fact that the body is made of solid brass chrome finished in matte silver (also was a second model with matte to black). The filling system is a cartridge-converter of the international format. The cap on friction.

Re: Reviews of some modern fountain pens (will update)
In the previous review, I wrote that there were reasons to write a review on rOtring 600 now – so here is this reason. Last year I bought this rOtring 600 Black to my Silver, and it turned out to be a Newton – so, even experienced fans of fountain pens can make mistakes)). At first, I was a little sad, but then, on the contrary, I was happy, because this is a good addition to my fountain pens knowledge base. By the way, there was another reason, which will be described a little later))
rOtring Newton (made in Germany) R502 952 / R502 956
The shape of this pen is almost the same as the previously described rOtring 600, as difficult to describe and in general it is a hexagonal in profile and also repeats the well-known mechanical pencil. The body is made of brass and covered by matte blackening (there is another model with a chrome coating). The filling system is a cartridge-converter of the international format. Cap on friction with click at the end.

Re: Reviews of some modern fountain pens (will update)
Hi! With this model, I probably close all my interested questions by Pilot brand. Yes, of course, there are still 912 and 92 Heritage, or Yukari with Emperor, but they will feel similar to what I have already tried. So let’s not waste time and let’s take a closer look.
Pilot Justus 95 Net Black w|adjustable M nib (made in Japan) FJ-3MRR-NB-M-NT
The shape of this pen is cylindrical, almost straight, with flat ends. The material of the body is black resin, which has a red light when backlighted. The body and cap surface have guilloche texture called “Net”. The filling system is a cartridge-converter of proprietary Pilot format. Cap on thread, 3-starts thread, open/close for 1 and 1/6 turns.

I did not wait long time and made an ultra-extra-fine nib as promised earlier.
Pilot Justus 95 Net Black w|adjustable custom UEF nib
This time I decided not to do a Drawing nib, although the tip is quite large and have more material to did it, but I just made a UEF nib with an attractive plaque on the top.
