Hi guys,
I'm a fountain pen novice and have come across this pen set for sale. Does anyone know what type of pen it is?
Cheers,
Justin

Looks a bit like a Sonnet
Edit: It isn't a Sonnet.
Thanks for the quick reply Chrissy. That was actually my guess, but as it's being offered for ~35 USD on FB markets, I thought it seems too good to be true, so wondering if it's legit. Quite a strange package with the watch and 1903 advert too. The seller says it's a limited edition and unused.
I think it is the pen just before the Sonnet, the "Insignia". Same section as the Sonnet, but the nib units do not unscrew. Note the flat top of the cap and the flat "blind cap". I use one with a Sonnet section just so I can swap nibs.
Does not dry out as quickly as the original Sonnets seem to.
See: https://parkerpens.net/insignia.html
Thanks guys, I think I might take a punt on this - since the packaging is so strange, i suppose anyone looking to produce a counterfeit wouldbe llikely use a regular parker box rather than going to the effort to produce this with the watch etc.
With a Swatch and all?
promotional box form the late 80s!
AWESOME
I have several of these Insignia pens. Sections and nibs interchange with Sonnet, but, while I can see using a Sonnet gold nib in an Insignia, I am not sure I would use an Insignia nib in a sonnet. I am thinking the Insignia ia a less expensive pen than Sonnet. I was surprised that nibs abd sections could be exchanged between the two types. Nice set with the watch.
The Insignia nibs I have will unscrew from their sections. I have not recently had a need to try to put one of the Insignia nibs into a Sonnet section, and can't remember trying. I haven't used these pens in years, but I just unscrewed the Insignia nib from its section.

A while back I bought a set of Insignia's
Just wanted to look at them.
Thought they were rather nice.
Hardly the same build quality as Sonnets.
Some of coloured versions are very attractive.
I have the same coloring Insignia that Proteus has. That's where I put my Sonnet section and nib. It seems to me that the Insignia is better-built than a Sonnet, especially since it does not have the dry-out issue that has bothered Sonnet users forever.
