Dr. Tyson is a genuine fountain pen fan. We met several years ago at Fountain Pen Hospital's semi-annual Pen Fair. He's a giant; biggest hand I ever shook. We hit it off & went to the back of the store to play with our pens. He had a small case of a dozen high end ltd eds, most with the theme of the cosmos: OMAS Galileo, Montblanc Copernicus, and others. I had 1920s Parkers & Montblancs from 1950s-70s. We tested each other's pens, and Dr. Tyson loved the way older Montblancs wrote. He said that he was definitely going to begin exploring vintage fountain pens. We arranged to meet at FPH the next day and enjoyed each other's pens again, as if we had not written with them the previous day. Good guy. Very friendly & enthusiastic. I asked if I could take his photograph, and he suggested we take a selfie together. I told him the folks at home already knew what I looked like, but he insisted on a dual selfie. I tend not to disagree with a guy who is about ten times larger than the average linebacker.
