Re: All those pommy pens?
I understand Charles used a silver Montblanc and a dip pen.
Re: All those pommy pens?
I think that the provided pen was a Pilot V pen, Charles had a 146. Camilla struggled with the caps and the pen tray and the ink stand got in everyone's way.
The entire ceremony and location were fascinating to watch and discover, history come to life.
Re: All those pommy pens?
Charles used his own Montblanc pen that he removed from his inside pocket and replaced there after each signing. At one point the pen trays or ink stands got in his way so much that he had them removed before he signed the documents as he preferred to sign angled rather than straight.
Re: All those pommy pens?
His beloved Mother used a Parker 51, which I think stayed on her desk, it looked like she carried a modern Parker Duofold, though usually a pen is given to the Queen for visitors books etc. Margaret Thatcher used a Parker Duo fold constantly. Maybe someone else knows if it was a Centennial or international ?

By Pilot V, you mean Varsity?

Yes, the disposable pen. Amazon UK sell the Pilot as V pen.
Not the most ecological pen by any means.

Funny. My wife had one, that worked for years. When the ink was used. I refilled it again. I have several now, refilling them when the ink is done for. I've never had them leak. They are very dependable actually. However, truth be said out of a 3 pack, one will not cooperate and breaks, so it's as ecologically inane as most Bics or cheap Chinese FPs..
Re: All those pommy pens?
I buy them for flights, that way if they break or leak, it’s not a big deal. My first one lasted for about 10 years, if I had known at the time that they could be eyedroppered, I would still have it.
Re: All those pommy pens?
The V-Pen (or Varsity, depending on your part of the world) is one of the most inexpensive yet reliable fountain pens ever made. Something I am sadly reminded of every time I purchase an expensive pen that has to be returned to the manufacturer for poor performance.
