My Pilot VP with bent nib now works like Fude pen :)))
I have a Pilot VP special alloy which I bought 2 years ago. One time, I dropped it and it landed the ground by the nib.
Nib was bent up like this (this is current condition of the nib, before the nib was bent and 2 tines were apart)

First, it couldn't write, I was thinking of sending it to Pilot for repair. But then I realize it will take times and also it was already passed the warranty period, so I decided to fix it by myself first.I took the nib out, try to balance the 2 tines to make them together again. And after awhile, I managed to get it write again.
And surprisingly, it can write quite smooth (of course not as smoothly as it did before, but I couldn't ask more)

What is the most surprised things you got from your broken pens?
Re: My Pilot VP with bent nib now works like Fude pen :)))
Wow cool. The most surprising result I got out of broken pens so far was unexpectedly inky fingers. :D

So it's now a Waverly nib! :)
I've managed to straighten a couple of nibs that came with beater vintage pens. Decidedly un-pretty, but they write.

Thank you! I was surprised too. I think it was my luckiest moment of the year. And my hands were also inky too ;)

I am not sure it is truly a Waverly or not, but so far so good. It can write, and it is all I am asking for.
Can you show some of your vintage pens? I would love to see
