Yep! Mine ran out in about 2015, and I haven't had any since. Very happy (albeit older) woman here :) Now if I could just find some Daniel Defoe to replace the one I spilled....
Re: Birthday present for me!
Happy Birthday to you!
If you were patient enough to await your recently arrived Racing Green, I have confidence you will be able to also have Defoe.
I was fortunate to purchase mine while it was still available but I have been rewarded by the patient wait for most of the other MB's that were released prior to my returning interest in pens & ink. They do turn up, even if @ inflated prices.
Re: Birthday present for me!
If the shoe fits, buy it. Congrats!
Re: Birthday present for me!
I was watching that end last night and was very surprised to see how reasonable it was. :) Well done! Glad it went to someone who will use it.

I was surprised too Chrissy! I'd given myself a budget that was just a tad over that ;) It sounds like the same seller may well have some more too.

There has been another bottle quite recently and that went for a tad over that one. I don't think it was the same seller though.

Happy Birthday!
I’m curious....What is so special about this ink?

It's one of those inks that you either love, or feel utterly indifferent about! I love it - but there are very few murky greens that I don't love (unless they've got too much blue in them).
It was discontinued in about 2009 (along with some other very much loved inks) and has never been repeated. Like other unobtainium inks, it's been known to sell for ridiculous amounts, and whilst I love it, I wouldn't pay silly money for it (there are a couple of inks that I would), but I got this for a price I was perfectly happy to pay, given that it's a full, unused bottle. Like my last bottle, which ran out around 2014, I will use it, give some of it away, and generally enjoy it until it's gone. Then I'll use something else, or use one of the pretty good recipes that replicate it fairly well.
Now if I could just get my hands on a Daniel Defoe (which I managed to lose to a cat-assisted spill), and perhaps a Jonathan Swift, I'd be in green ink heaven :)

I have an unopened bottle of Defoe I’m willing to sell. Send me a DM if you’re interested.
I might also have a spare bottle of Swift but I’ll have to check tomorrow.
Re: Birthday present for me!
And to think that it's all due to ol' Schmidt failing to clean the mixing vat the night before the next morning's pour of green ink. Lucky for him, quality control head Frau Muller took the day off, so she didn't see the dirty green ink being raced into bottles and boxes. She resigned before the next board meeting, while Schmidt held on until he got the largest quarterly bonus ever awarded to an employee of the ink division.

Could he have been accused of double dipping?
Re: Birthday present for me!
Interesting. I love muted, murky ink colors in general, so I would probably like this. I don’t care for green inks if they are bright/vibrant....Though I do like Emerald of Chivor and PI Tsuki-Yo, but that is partly because I like the way those inks perform.
I remember someone here praising a murky green from an ink made the UK...can’t remember the name...Blackbird or something like that? I think the ink was “mallard green”
