MI2 is Sailor Kobe No. 15 Maiko Green. Just for information, that's one of the special Kobe series of inks made by Sailor for an organization in Kobe, Japan. I bought mine on eBay from the wonderful cool-Japan. It is still available. And it really looks like the tiny photo in that listing, doesn't it? Though tandaina showed how a wet pen can darken it nicely.
oooh, you guys were talking about me behind my back! hah, that's what I get for exercising (wholly uncharacteristic) self-restraint! ah well, at least I'm called gracious, awshucks :P

Anyway! This is a total out-of-left-field ink for me! I'd never even heard of a Kobe line from Sailor. I wish I knew the non-ebay price point for this (because ebay items are often priced different because of fees etc). I don't think I'd pay $20 plus shipping for it, because while I like it, I think I could be just as happy with alternatives in this case. It's a really nice green ink, but it's not a great ink, period, one I'd want to use no matter the color just 'cause it's so beautiful.

But I was really curious about a comparison between that and Diamine Meadow, so I dug out a sample of that I had, and here's what I get - same paper, and my trusty glass pen for testing :P

Yep, it's like I thought - the only reason MI2 reminded me of Diamine Meadow would have been the pen. I guess that nib is so huge, it flattens out the subtleties in color difference just the same as a super fine nib does. Because with the glass nib pen, they are omg SO different! They're green and that's about it really.

Wow, this has been SO much fun! I'm gonna go look at the other Mystery Ink threads now :-)

PS: wow, my handwriting's kind of ugly! I'm used to it but seeing it on a screen is a change of perspective, and with all the gorgeous writing fresh in my mind, the disparity is even bigger. Guess I'm vivid proof that cursive writing and pretty writing are NOT the same thing, lol (and I'm holding back to apply myself here, when I write at a normal pace it's even more obvious because it's both uglier and more joined-up :P)

Plume, thank you for posting your review!! This was the first chance I had to try Kobe Maiko Green, as well. I really liked this particular color, but have so many greens that a bottle of this will have to wait a while. But, I had to respond to your post right away, because one of my comments to Laura after using this one, was that Kobe Maiko Green struck me very much like a darker Diamine Meadow (a favorite of mine). You are right, the writing samples show that they are very different, but I love that you and I were both on the same page. Thank you so much for participating! I'm so glad that you enjoyed this!

Haha, it's nice to know I was a little less clueless than I thought then! I was surprised how different they really were, and seeing them side by side made me appreciate both more than when comparing them to other ink colors. I guess the old saw about comparing apples to apples goes for inks too!

Beats me. The closest we get to animation at my house is Frozen. Constantly. Let it go.
Disney just announced a sequel is in the works for Frozen.

Well, whoever the Snow Queen is. The original is hard to find, and you NEED to see it in its original language.

Is that version based on The Snow Queen by Hans Christian Anderson?

Neo, I believe so. It's a 1957 Russian animation that had a profound effect on me. We were able to buy the subtitled version, but that was a while ago.

If the Snow Queen was an ink, you may rest assured she would not be any of the Mystery Inks seen thus far (behold my pathetic attempt to get back on-topic), but possibly a mixture of Baystate Blue and Blue Ghost.

Wow, your rendition of the facts actually lends legitimacy to this movie. All I can base my opinions on is the silly music I hear on the radio at work (not my station of choice!). Your light-shedding history actually sparks interest in the story.

Oh my! I see that Fleabay has a couple on sale like this one.

It also contains The Golden Antelope, which had haunted me since childhood. It was even better seeing it in its original language.

Just to drag this back from Snow Queen Land...I was cleaning MI 2 from my Waterman Phileas, and wrapped the wet nib with a tissue. This was the result.
