Hello form Kansaas
As the title says, hello from Kansas. However, I have recently relocated to here. I teach business and computer applications in a small middle school. About the only other thing about me is that, so far, I have kept my commitment to ride my bicycle to school every day of this school year.
I found this forum because my daughter is here. I will say that she probably sends out more personal correspondence than I do.
As far as pens go, after all, that is why we are here, I remember the collection of fountain pens in my fathers roll top desk. However, I got my first fountain pen in High School sometime in the early 80’s. It was a parker something. I remember it was a parker but little more.
My current ‘daily’ work pens are a steel Parker Jotter with a space pen refill, and a Parker Urban Premium Fountain Pen, Medium Point, Metallic Black. I use Noodlers Black in it.
For personal writing I recently purchased a Jinhao 8821 Rosewood Medium. I like it more than one would expect for such a cheap pen. I keep it filled with Noodlers Lexington Grey.
I used it today to write a few pages to an old college friend while my students were doing an exercise. I have to admit I cheaped out and used paper from the laser printer. I am hoping to find, and start using, slightly better writing paper.
Other than that I have started making a point of using wax seals on the envelops I send out. People who receive them seem to notice, and like, them. Further, the entire wax seal process amuses my students.
