For a property owner, snow is like a boss who can't be reasoned with. It doesn't care what else you need to get done, and it doesn't give you a break just because you need one. But if I feel like complaining about the snow, I just think about the hot days I experienced in Texas. I was made for the cold, not the heat. And fresh snow is a beautiful thing to behold.
I live in Lafayette, Louisiana now and miss St. Louis terribly at times. I was there in December when there was a dusting of snow, and I loved it. I don't know if I would have liked last winter's snow, though. I will say I am not a fan of hot weather or hurricanes, either. My dream is to relocate northwards when I retire. I miss fall the most. We are having spring this winter.

Maybe there is a wee problem having enough plows to get to everybody's street frequently enough, though. No mail delivery today, BTW.

Didn't say it was FUN. I swear we did better with this stuff even 10 years ago. But I worked for the country road commission 20 years ago and can tell you the budget was already getting pinched then cause no one wanted to pay taxes. But boy did we get complaints when folks road didn't get brined or there weren't enough plows out. None of the callers who yelled at me ever got that road maint costs money.

But then we MI drivers are nuts, we'll drive in anything. I've plowed snow with the bumper of my VW Jetta all the way from work to home, didnt seem at all unusual! :lol

    Hope you are liberated soon!

On the CT shoreline, we got 14 inches, so I went for a long ski in the woods. The snow was beautiful--very powdery and fast once packed.

Not too bad--certainly less snow than the boston area and above. Many schools were canceled for a 3rd day however...

You are all lucky to have a winter.....in the UK it is just drifting rain and when you walk to work you arrive soaking wet and need to change your trousers....snow any time over that. 7

You're just lucky to live in the UK, where they are still referred to as "trousers".

Was just looking into that pants versus trousers thing. It's kind of interesting. Turns out that "pants" is short for "pantaloons", which makes sense since in Spanish it is "pantalones". Trousers seems to be based off German for "house" and "pantaloons" on a French word, which originated as an Italian proper name.
