Hi everyone. I've been using fountain pens my whole life, and it's been a delight to see the regrowth of interest in "analog communication tools", i.e. the simple pen and paper I've always loved. While I now have quite a pile of pens in my desk drawer, I wouldn't call myself a collector. Rather, I'm always looking for reliable writers that work with a minimum of fuss. I write quite a bit daily (usually 1-2 hours at a stretch) so finicky pens and inks get really frustrating. My mottley collection includes some Scheaffer Triumphs, Pilot Metropolitans, cheap Chinese P51 knock-offs, a couple of Lamy's, an Ahab, a Waterman 52, a lever-fill Swan, a Platinum Cool... I guess what they have in common are smooth, fine nibs and generous ink flow. I do own a couple of exquisite vintage flex pens. But after writing a whole letter in copperplate script, I realized they were too exhausting to use for anything other than occasional decorative touches or perhaps sketching.
I'm happy to be here among fellow pen nuts, and while I'm generally a quiet lurker, I do read everything with interest. Thanks for having me among you.
Elaine
