Mr. Reader (March 13th, 2016)
We did. Power's even back...but..
Major damage to surrounding areas...a church tower ended up on the other side of the road, house on street where we once lived suffered a downed-wire fire, trees like jackstraws, some on roofs...yet 'they' claim no tornado...people tell me 'straight-line' winds can wreak similar damage.
Update (of the whining sort):
We just lost power again.
Earlier today we went around taking photos of the storm damage. Road crews are working as fast as they can...still...
Typical roadside scene
This tree fell on some church property
Giant trunk left almost a sinkhole
We also spotted a car near the church that had obviously taken damage from falling trees. I don't think anyone was killed. A few are still without power. And right now that includes us.

I do hope your power is restored soon, and I pray no one was injured. In the mean time, crawl down into some of the craters left by the uprooted trees and look for rocks and other treasures that haven't seen light of day for a century or so! I have a flat rock with obvious water erosion signs that came from underneath a 150-some year old tree. The pressure of the enormous tree growing over it "fused" several pebbles onto the surface. I show it to the middle school kids in earth science class. Maybe you'll even find some fossils!
Online arguments are a lot like the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
As soon as the audience begins to participate, any actual content is lost in the resulting chaos and cacophony.
At that point, all you can do is laugh and enjoy the descent into debasement.

Thank you! We do have power back now. And for those who don't (less than 100 households now) at least the weather's been beautiful.
There were no deaths or serious injuries reported, thank God. We did see one obviously tree-damaged car outside someone's house. And it never occurred to treasure-hunt the tree crater!

I'll be back on board in about 2 days, after the return home, and hope to have some new tools to shoot pen pics. It has been a rather brutal 3-4 months on the personal and work side, so when the week came up blank, we chose to get out. I offer you "Aloha - Still life with beverage, poke, camera, and the Pacific Ocean, 2016" (taken on the Kona Coast):
"When Men differ in Opinion, both Sides ought equally to have the Advantage of being heard by the Publick;
and that when Truth and Error have fair Play, the former is always an overmatch for the latter."
