Sorry to hear they're being phased out. I have them both and really like them.

That ink shades so freely, it is like oil to see it move and dry on the paper.

A box arrived. They didn't half cover it in fragile tape - Fort Knox to get into.... Will reveal all later.

Terra Firma is a lovely color. (especially with a wet pen) That is a shame to hear. Thankfully I do have a bottle of it. I've never tried Loden.

Has anyone done an ink review on Parker Penman Emerald ink? The search function on here doesn't turn up anything pertinent. This summer I bought a 1/3 - full bottle at a flea market. It looked thick when I sloshed it around. Trying it with a dip pen produced writing that looked black. Last evening I had time to tangle with it; began adding distilled water. By the time I had a rich, dark green ink, the bottle was full. I don't know if I went too far or not. What is it supposed to look like?

I gave $3 for it. The sticker on the bottom says $12.49. I suppose I should just shut up and use it.

A couple of R&K Sketch inks - their new pigmented range. I chose olive green and grey green.
    It's all about the greys...

When you try an ink with a dip pen it is always much darker than when using a fountain pen. In addition to it, your bottle was opened (unsealed), and this for many years, which changes the colour, by darkening it, too, because of water evaporation - even if Emerald is quite dark.

Oops, later means 5 months later!

Inks came were two shimmers - Golden Ivy and Electric Pink, plus a sample of Wagner.

Today I ordered a bottle of J. Herbin Rouge Hematite.

My last ink acquisition is a bottle of Akkerman No. 5 (a/k/a "Shocking Blue"). See the thread for MI14 for more information. One of these days, I'll see a comparison of Akkerman No. 5, Private Reserve DC Supershow Blue, Diamine Sargasso Sea, Parker Sapphire Blue and MI16, all of which in my eyes mind have similar color and sheen. Side by side I might not see such similarity anymore.

Sorry about the poor photo, only have artificial lighting and phone, but should be good enough to see that the inks are not the same. Particularly MI16 is nothing like the sample of Penman Sapphire that I have (all 3ml of it, wish I could get a bit more really).

In the past oh, six weeks I have picked up Irishuzuku Kon Peki, KWZI El Dorado, Pine Green and Brown #4.

I have a scan someplace, I will have to find it and post it.

Diamine Skull & Roses, and Calligraphy Passion, both FP inks made for the German market.

They’re OK but neither will make my Top Thirty. Skull & Roses mimics the latest Organic Studios offerings, and similarly has far too much sheen, and is a smeary, never-drying ink. It behaves too much like D. Majestic Blue, which I dislike. Calligraphy Passion is bright & cheerful but I’m not sold on it.

    I’ll move them on.

With a background in astronomy, I had to get some Colorverse inks when I read about them. I bought samples of Crystal Planet, Gravity Wave, Morning Star, Proxima B, Quasar, Saturn V, and Supernova, and bottles of the Extra Dimension / Warped Passages pair of inks. Plus, I had some luck during a promo I came across and also managed to obtain two small bottles of Andromeda Glistening and Crystal Planet Glistening.

The ink review sub-forum awaits your reviews! The basic color swatches on the Colorverse website aren't very large, and no reviews where people pour ink or spread it with a q-tip is ever representative of how it writes. I'm very interested to see how these show in normal / daily use.

Very nice. Tokiwa-matsu is a wonderful color. I always get a lot of gold sheen out of it...almost looks brown instead of green.

There is some brown in it. That’s probably why it matches my pen so well, because there is green and brown in the pen
