Hello fountain pen geeks. I've been using fountain pens since high school (a few decades). Thanks for all of the useful information and interesting posts here. I hope I can contribute helpful information for someone as well.

Hello and greetings from the UK.
We look forward to the time when the power of love will replace the love of power. Then will our world know the blessings of peace.
Welcome, Midwest. Where in the great midwest are you. I'm in Independence, MO. You're right, it's cold. Forecast for tomorrow night is 0 degrees. But we have our fountain pens to keep us warm. What pens do you have? Do you have a favorite?

Welcome fellow cold midwesterner.
From a fellow Midwesterner. I think that there are enough people to start a cruise for us Midwest FP lovers!
I'm in - as long as it's a cruise to a TROPICAL destination. It's amazingly cold in Cincinnati!

Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm in Northern Michigan, where the 2 months of summer are worth the 6 months of winter.
My pens and pencils range from vintage to modern from flea markets and the Chicago Pen Show. I enjoy using pencils, but I haven't yet taken time to try different leads to find my favorite. I know how to re-sac a pen, but that's all as far as repairs go. My favorite pens are small, lightweight, and have smooth fine point nibs (like Pilot 78G and the old Cross Solo). I'd like to find a nice cursive italic nib at the next pen show if I can try one out. My favorite ink is (was) Waterman South Sea Blue (or whatever they're calling it now). I also liked Levenger's Pinkly when it was available. Now J.Herbin Rose Cyclamen is replacing it.

Northern Michigan, a Uper, eh. I have a 40 near Channing that I used to visit a lot.
Hi Midwest!
Having grown up in Nebraska...I get you! However, since I keep up with my FB Midwest perps we have been colder here in the Northeast. I used cheap cartridge FP in high school a couple decades ago. And just got back into it. Good for you! Do you have a current favorite FP.
Welcome to the forum.

Have a great day!!
