    The new one arrived and is minty new! I love it!I completely understand why this pen has been produced for 49 years. I would post a pic but it looks a lot like all the other Lamy 2000's. Thanks again for all the help everyone!

    I vote the M200. It is softer and a better writer than a lot of my gold nib pens. Also it's flashy, and you'll probably end up with a Pelikan anyways. The 400 nib is actually stiffer.

    Hello there! How's that L2k working out for you? I just discovered this thread and since I am a huge Lamy 2000 fan, I'd hoped you would settle on this one and also enjoy it! This pen always gets in the way of my other pen choices: rather than buying anything else, I'd get another 2000 and have the nib custom ground... My oldest one is almost worn smooth by now! Best of luck with this iconic classic!
