SOLD: Mabie Todd No.6 retractable nib dip pen, huge flexible nib!

I don’t really know a whole lot about this pen. It was somewhat of an impulse buy after seeing several retractable nib dip pens at the 2012 Chicago Pen Show. This one fit my budget so I went for it. It has a huge nib that measure 29mm long and 8.7mm from shoulder to shoulder. This is easily as large or larger than a modern #8 size nib. The imprint on the nib reads “313 Mabie Todd & Co. New York”. The nib retracts manually by pulling back on the collar. The action is stiff but smooth. The imprint on the barrel reads “MABIE, TODD & CO. NO.6″. The pen measures 134mm with the nib retracted and 178mm when extended; the barrel measures 8.7mm in diameter. The nib has great flex to it and the kind of response you just dream about. It’s a whole lot of fun if you have the patience. $185 SOLD
