Hello everybody!
I'm not quite as sinister as my username might suggest, but I live in the County of Door, where inky shadows lie (to loosely borrow from both Tolkien and SBRE Brown).
Having been raised in the German school system a few decades ago, my fingers were inky from 2nd grade on (we had slates, slate pencils and sponges in 1st grade), and likely will remain so for a while yet...
Thus for me, a fountain pen has always been the 'normal' writing instrument, with the ballpoint being relegated to shopping lists on newsprint notepads. I also grew up in a design-oriented environment strongly leaning towards the utilitarian/minimalist and traditional + Bauhaus spectrum. Interests are any and all sorts of inks (of course) and, well, simple pens that use a nib, such as LAMY CP1's and 2k's, Metros and other things black, minimal and functional, devoid of trim and bling...(though I thoroughly enjoy handling more ornate pens, I just wouldn't buy them).
I am happy to have found this forum as a place to exchange pen-related thoughts and I guess now I'll first try to learn to navigate it (I'm much more handy with a pen and a notebook than with a computer ).
Be well, and thanks to all who make this happen!
