    Default My Beer Glass Lightbox

As they say: Necessity if the mother of invention =)

I desperately wanted to photograph the pen stand that my father had made for me, but I had no "legitimate" lighting equipment... so I searched the house!

As you can see in the photo of the set-up, I used four beer glasses (hoping for some headroom), a white t-shirt that I sacrificed for the project (it had to be cut in order to be useful), some painter's tape to hold things in place, two shop-lights from the garage (one resting atop a steady-cam), a stray piece of white poster board, and one folded 8.5 x 11 piece of standard copy paper (to add reflection).

From the above point of view, things look messy! But from the camera's point of view, the results pleased me no end:

And yes, gillyohan, that's your Esterbrook featured on the Pen Stand =)

It is simply amazing what a guy can do with a little thought, some regular household items and bit of tinkering! Very Impressive Results Too!

Nonsense! The only thing that matters is the pic. There are plenty of point and shoots that produce fantastic pics, especially on a tripod. The only reason it bought my 40D was for motorsports photography. Correct me if I'm wrong eriquito but you have a 40D too, right?
