For those taking a trip to lower manhatten a visit to the fountain pen hospital is always good fun especially for an Aussie on a short trip.

if you are down that way it's also worth a walk or short cab ride to CW pencils. An alladins cave of all things in traditional pencils. Be sure to check out the vintage pencils on sale as well.

Great store layout and the owner Caroline knew her stuff.

I left with around 30 different pencils. Very much worth a visit for those pencil users.

Be prepared for an experience in opening the box with the packing a work of art in itself with what can only be described as a yellow or daffodil theme wraped in twine.
