New to the FPG, been reading for a few months and signed up today!
My mother is a lover of fine writing instruments and she passed this trait on to me. She also was keen to give me access to fine art supplies, including her pens (fountain and rapidograph), from the time I was quite young, maybe 4 years old.
In my day-job life, I work at our family business along with my parents, aunt and uncle, and occasionally my husband where we make electric basses and guitars. We use all manner of archaic writing instruments here, including the humble woodcase pencil. We still do a quite a bit of handwritten correspondence, and I reach for my fountain pens whenever I can.
Currently I'm using a Kaweco Sport in black that I carry in my hip pocket inked with Diamine Majestic Blue. I also have a Stipula Passport that I haven't really bonded with writing wise, but it's so darned cute I can't part with it. I need to work on tuning the nib on that little guy. I have 2 Noodler's Ahab flex nibs that have be hunting for a more flexible and enjoyable flexy, a Pilot Metropolitan on my desk at home, and a couple of vintage pens, including a Montblanc that I bought back in 1987 with my first paycheck.
Looking forward to attending my first pen show in August.
