Writing a Cursive Eszett?

I'm learning German and all has been going surprisingly well, but I am a bit confused as to how I should write the Eszett when I'm writing as I rarely print. The capital is easy enough, but when connecting letters it just looks off. Is using ss the preferred way of writing it? Any German speakers have suggestions/examples?

I probably speak as much or even less German than you. I lived in Germany for 3 years and think they just use the ß instead of ss even in cursive.

There are several native German speakers here that I am sure will chime in.

My German wife writes that letter like mathematicians write the 'beta' ( ß ) sign.

Just bear in mind of any adjustments for the particularly script you are practicing at the moment.

I appreciate the responses! The Deutsche Normalschrift looks somewhat similar to the cursive we learn in the US, so I think I'll start practicing that one. Danke!
