Default A question about the Delta Dolce Vita Oversize fountain pen........

I thought that the Delta Dolce Vita Oversize fountain pen came only in a convertor/cartridge version. Or the pen could be used as a eye-dropper filled pen also. But, a friend tells me that nowadays the Oversize version of this pen is available with a piston mechanism. I said to my friend that probably the midsize version of this pen came with a piston filler. But, he insists that the Oversize pen is also available as a piston filler.
Is it true, is the info that my friend has correct? Please do let me know.
    Thank you in advance.

Could he be referring to the Dolce Vita IT demonstrator? Something like that might be in the pipeline for the orange and black Dolce Vita collection. I see no mention of it online (apart from the one piston fill orange-and-black model) yet, but you could ask the folks at Yafa.

This is a common misconception. It may sound strange but the official Oversize Dolcevita model, in the regular line up, comes with C/C filling mechanism (plus the option of eye dropping of course). The Dolcevita line up also includes a piston filled version that is also an oversize pen by all means, even a bit longer than than the official Oversize but slimmer and with a smaller nib. The gain in length is largely due to the addition of a transparent section indicating the ink level. Finally, the line up includes a "medium" size pen and other models (Zen, Mini) that come with C/C.

It should be noted that a famous US retailer did produce a bunch of limited editions based on the Oversize model in celluloid. So in theory there are some Dolcevita Oversize with piston fill mechanism. One of this is the Turchese Meraviglia II (note the II, 2, since there is another Turchese Meraviglia simply based on the existing piston fill model). But these are limited editions produced for a store in very limited quantity.

Is Delta still gluing a small strip of gold to a piece of steel and calling it a fusion nib?

Special K - I think they are, but the Fusion nib is not used on the Dolce Vita Oversized pens. These pens have a monster Bock nib, and are quite the joy to use.
