Default A Broad Preppy Fluke? I Like it...

Picked up two Platinum Preppy for the first time over from AndersonPens, got one in an extrafine (02/0.2mm) and one in medium (05/0.5mm), except the actual tip on the purple colored 05 I got is not a Japanese medium (or western Fine-Medium for that matter), but looks much closer to a 0.9 or so, the same physical

Hrm they're actually pretty nice, and not drying out either. Though that chunk of tipping on the medium is not a medium if they're claiming 05 as 0.5mm (which would be roughly a western fine-medium), getting more of a 0.9 just looking at the tip itself. Has about the same physical width as my Pelikan Oblique Broad (on the P20 Silvexa), and the same written width to match. If it was a smaller physical with, I would just blame it on the ink feathering out.

Write sample on a Rhodia dot pad.

A fluke I'm guessing, but not an unpleasant one in this case.

Edit: Actually getting my hands on a digital micrometer, stroke-wise about 0.9mm downstroke, 0.6mm side stroke, physical tipping about 0.95mm at it's widest, and around 0.9mm at what the writing surface would be.
