It's pretty close now. All I have to do is finish the decorative onlays, apply two coats of shellac, a coat of shellac primer, two coats of latex paint, cover my statement wall in something fun, install new baseboards, run all new electrical thru some crazy custom conduit runs to make things look extra special industrial, repaint the walls white and then apply some some architectural looking boards, install the overhead studio flash, and reinstall the door. It's practically done already

I do have one portable drill in its case under the table to use as a foot rest which really cheers me up now.

Ok, whoever built this thing is a moron because all those little details take forever to paint. So far I've put on two coats of shellac, two coats of shellac primer, and two coats of WASHABLE (baystate blue is in that ink drawer!) enamel paint. It takes about 6 hours per coat to cover all those details. I also made some cabinet handles that match the theme of the cabinet
I still need to finish the accent wall behind the cabinet and install the counter top covering. I am using the same white marble looking floor tile as the rest of the current desk so everything has a continuous flow to it. I'ts been a good five months so far and she's not done yet.

This is masterful work! I hope hearing that from someone with 12+ years of carpentry experience has some weight behind it. Edison said invention is 90% perspiration. Home improvement is 90% perseverance.

Are those two ground to a stub? I'd hate to puncture someone's dress or pants walking past the cabinet.

I finished the ink drawer today!!!!! I lined it with felt. This is harder to do than it sounds. It took forever to cut each piece out and carefully glue it in.
