Nice. Twain is a hero of mine although I prefer his more cynical bon mots.

His piece about learning to ride a bicycle is one of my favourite short essays.

That's an amazing bit of line drawing.

Nice combination of calligraphy and drawing. The red drop capital really catches the eye.

Nice! Saw this when I went to the Mark Twain house a couple of weeks ago...the gift shop sold FPs, but they were NOT Conklins!! How funny that they didn't pick to sell the brand that he majorly endorsed.

Thanks Will. If you didn't catch last week's FPG broadcast, I sent the fellas another Mark Twain quote (this one about... fountain pens ). Oh, FYI, in addition to the Conklin, Twain at one time or another also used Wirt and Waterman fountain pens. (With all the vintage pens floating about, it makes me wonder sometimes if someone out there is using one of Mr. Twain's pens still. )

    Cheers!

On his billiard room study's desk, there was a conklin vintage, but I don't know if it actually was his. Some of the items in the house were original, but not all...

Well done! Love the quote. Seems like great minds think alike, we have the same Twain signature quote.

Love the drawing and the quote. Though it prompted me to do a quick search (also on the bike, thanks Aaron) and it seems like it was misattributed.
