    Default Hi from DE

I've had a fountain pen for years, but didn't feel any affinity towards the it until recently. At the time, I saw nothing special about fountain pens. I was mistaken. Now, I think I'm obsessed.

My first pen was a yellow Lamy Safari I bought several years ago. I didn't use it much and I ended up putting it in a storage box, where it was forgotten about it, until a couple of weeks ago when I found it while looking looking for something else. I've been writing with it exclusively since then. I've become obsessed with writing by hand to the point that I think I'll write the first draft of my next writing project by hand.

Since rediscovering fountain pens, I've gone on a bit of a shopping spree. I found a 2014 blue green Lamy Al Star online and bought a dozen samples of Iroshizuku inks. I'm currently waiting for a Decimo and a bunch of paper from different companies to try out.

I wish there was a local or even a semi-local place to buy pens and inks, but it looks like the Internet is my only option at the moment.

This forum seems like a great place and was helpful when I was lurking and researching what kind of "serious" pen I wanted to treat myself to.

Welcome home. Pull up a stump and set a spell. Which DE do you hail from?

    Welcome,

It looks the fountain pen virus has struck again. There are many knowledgeable people here. Take your time and savor the journey. I have a few Lamys and I love them. Regarding paper, Rhodia, Clairfontaine, and Tomoe are fountain pen friendly.

My first pen (that I used; I got a waterman from my clinical supervisor after his trip to France that never worked well) was a Lamy in charcoal. I now have 3, one in raspberry and another in burnt orange. I have a lot of difficulty with hand pain and they are light and reliable.

We look forward to the time when the power of love will replace the love of power. Then will our world know the blessings of peace.
