Noodler's Apache Sunset, Noodler's Widowmaker, Pelikan Edelstein Amethyst, and a touch of Private Reserve Avocado.
I don't know what black it is.
A lot of washing, a bit of dip pen, and Lamy Safari fine; the grape is the Pelikan 205 italic..

Snowbear, great to see you also posting here.

    @Penwash
As the thread owner I hope you don't mind that I posted the Lion which was not created with a FP as mentioned in the thread title.
Is it ok to extend the scope to any kind of sketch, no matter how it was created (or better to post non FP stuff in another generic thread)?

I don't mind. It's still a sketch made with ink.
Where I draw the line would be pencil sketches.

Not because I want to be a snob about it, but I believe pencil sketching is a different art-form than sketching/drawing with ink.
    Both are wonderful.

Ah that is good to hear as I rarely draw with an actual fountain pen these days. Mostly dip pen, with the addition of a brush for washes, for me.

Drawing with pen & ink certainly is different from pencil; each medium has it's own quirks.

I've mostly used pencil and charcoal (in school) but recently started using pen and ink. Like Pira, I prefer to use washes, and I will use fountain pen, drawing and acrylic inks on a single piece.

I'll refrain from posting my Kitchen Utensils sketch in the thread, then - it's colored pencil.

You are of course welcome to start a thread for pencil sketches and drawings.
I love those, just not good drawing with pencils at all.

    Pira, post away.
I love to learn about ink washes, I know it will add some dimensions to my pen sketches, I just need to muster the courage to do it.

    Welcome Pira and Ptero

FPN will be much poorer without your artistic riches. But they'll never learn over there, and their loss is our gain
I can't wait to see your contributions.

I've always enjoyed snowbear's, penwash's & others' contributions on here, so long may they continue as well.

It's a great idea to start a separate drawing, painting and sketching thread for other art media. I've posted some of mine in the past but started new threads each time. It'll be much better to have everyone's all in one place

    Edited to add:

I see that Wimg has posted in the weekly sketch thread on FPN that "parts of the thread are under discussion by the Admin and Mod team" so have "been hidden for the time being". (Too late as some will have already seen the earlier posts, now hidden or deleted). I assume they may be re-thinking their ridiculous actions (bolting horse and stable door?); however I don't think that excuses anything they've already done.
Artistic creativity is about free expression and it should not be subject to the censorship used all too freely on that forum. And that censorship will happen again, sadly.

Oh, I will continue to post here - this is my new FP home. I asked that my FPN account be deleted.

The warm welcome is much appreciated.

Funny that you would refer to bolting of a horse and stable door. I had just explained using similar terms to a friend. My drawing, which was 'on theme' in a thread I started, was wagging a finger, but unless you saw the earlier posts come and go you would not has thought much about it nor understood the veiled commentary. The mod must have seen it for the critique of their actions that it was, and bam it was gone. I swore that if it did get pulled I'd walk and I frankly don't care what they decide. They showed their colours....and made a single mistake of targeting artistic types. We don't react to censorship very well (there is a loooong history to back that up).

Anyway...enough about there and let's get on with here. Please accept my cheery spring daffodils, drawn with calligraphy and document inks, as a token of gratitude for a warm welcome extended to all who endevour to create.

Lovely, Pira, and quite humorous today: we had show showers.

I live a bit south of Washington, DC. For anyone not familiar with us, we only average 14.5 inches (36.8 cm) of snowfall per year, and rarely snows beyond after February, and the majority of it is to the north and to the west of the city.

    Beautiful, Pira :-)

As I'm currently in Australia, perhaps you have an 'autumnal' botanical offering, for us down here in the Southern Hemisphere?

I live slightly west of Toronto and am quite done with winter, thank-you very much. However Mother Nature is a bit drunk at the moment and can't decide if she is coming or going. We got snow dumped on us again last week...and then it has mostly melted, although it's COLD gosh darn it!... And apparently something called an Alberta Clipper is going to bring more snow tonight before Spring happens again on Wednesday. I'm getting whiplash from the back and forth on the thermomenter. I have three different weights of coat/hat/mitts and boots in the front hall for my dogwalking and daily shopping. The robins are definately confused. LOL

    My Sunday sketch #23: Scissors.
Lamy Vista EF, Iroshizuku Tsukushi, Strathmore Sketch (premium recycled, 60# / 89 g/m2)

Weekly Sketch #23 by Charlie Wrenn, on Flickr
The scan really darkened the ink.
The scissors are in an old spool, filled with twine; something I picked up for MLW at a flea market.
