I like the idea of new themes for the new site.

It would be kind of nice to start a fresh list for a fresh place....?
Crazyorange (April 11th, 2016)
As you wish. I will pull a list together tonight and have it running in a new thread under art & calligraphy this week. I am in the middle of a drawing that needs to be completed for tomorrow afternoon, so I have to keep on point with that ~ then I can turn my full attention to this project.
At your convenience, obviously.
No problem.
I am not posting it just for the comments (although very appreciated), but to push myself to sketch.
But I restored a lot of pens these days, it does cut into my sketching time, but I'll swing back sooner or later to sketching.
These new friends, though, they are *prolific* and should anyone wants to be motivated to practice sketching, they are the right group to join the fun.
I would recommend the Weekly Drawing themed sketch if you are up for a challenge. Do the ones you can or want and have fun.

Nice light touch with the colour Snowbear. Gosh that makes me hungry but sadly crabs don't like me one bit....which is lucky for them.
Penwash ~ ...half the time I'm not up to it either so no worries. I refuse to stress over things and hate being told what to do. This is ironic since I make up the list myself....which means I'm
resisting doing what I've told MYSELF to do. LOL
Thank you, Pira.
Why, don't you know, there's something magical about steamed Atlantic blue crabs (from the Chesapeake Bay) silver queen corn (from the DelMarVa peninsula), a pitcher of beer (or iced tea, if you prefer), and the O's on the television.

Today I saw in the news an article about the 300 girls which were kidnapped, enslaved or killed by the moslemic terrorists of Boko Haram in Nigeria 2 years ago.
This article inspired me to this sketch.
Itīs a shame that something like this can happen in the 21. century.

InkTest Tree: Pelikan - Black
What a somber black ink....
For those that are not familiar with my InkTest trees; the base is always drawn with Platinum Carbon Black and the foiliage is a wash of ink that I basically try to break. If interested you can see the rest of the forest of here: https://www.pinterest.com/cobaltdrag...um-inkadelica/
A: Why Trees?
Q: ...because I got tired of writing; 'The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog'....among other things. I like to draw. It's what I do.

Ooooo - a Pira tree!
I am working on my own version of Pira's InkTest trees: meet Clyde.
Iroshizuku yama-budo
Clyde started as a small ceramic bear and became an art class project. Clyde made an appearance in 96 small drawings but met an untimely death as he was inadvertently dropped on the studio floor. He may live again in ink samples.

I love Pira's trees - being a tree fan, myself
Clyde is great, snowbear

House finch by Pira Urosevic, on Flickr
Todays sketch is a house finch ~ drawn with DeAtramentis Document Red & Brown, Platinum Carbon Black and Walnut ink ~ using a vintage dip nib and brush on Stillman&Birn Zeta paper....because I have at least four other things to be working on, but am procrastinating.
Snowbear ~ Oh i like the scarf on Clyde....that's a great way to do ink samples for yourself
fountainpagan ~ Thank-you.
