Nice one, SK. Now let's see some sketches with it.

Last night I sketched this one:

An imaginary "water village" somewhere near one of the big rivers in China.

This Hero is a garden hose. Ink was on the section when I uncapped it, so I flushed it. Going to next try a dry ink, like MV Azure Noir or Blue Black.

I never used this R&K Dokumentus Braun ink before and thought, why not...

Pleasantly surprised at the complex hue and shading that this ink could bring out.

I love the pen too, a pocket-friendly M&T Swan with a big clip and cool black bands.

A Swan in different colours from what I'm used to. I love the rich russet and black bands.

Very quick, like three minutes. Ink is my own mix of blue blacks. I need to learn to take better pictures.

Still a wet writer. It feels good in the hand; I just need to appreciate its generosity with ink.

Looking good! If you mix dry-er inks, probably the ink flow would suit your preference more.

But I can't see any feathering, so either the paper is super coated, or the wetness is not terrible.

It's Rhodia, and even the Diamine Pelham Blue didn't feather on that.

Now if I could only take better photos, but all I have is a phone and a tablet.

I'm totally cheating here. This isn't a fountain pen, but an Esterbrook Dip Less.

    SK, isn't ink washes fun?

Here's my latest sketch, a Lakeside house sketched using a Lakeside pen.

All the colors are from FP inks, not watercolor tubes.

Christof, I'm sort of a "picker" when it comes to old fountain pens. A "picker" is someone who is not afraid to get their hands dirty in search of "who knows?" in a pile of who knows what

Point in case, I just spent a few hours last night getting 2 gold nibs off of some old pens (without destroying them), and then proceed to be unhappy with the way the nib writes and tune and grind the nib. My wife just shook her head seeing me trying to get old inks off my hands at the end.

I mean, which normal person does that?

Certainly, that qualifies as an obscure brand!
Lakeside is one of Montgomery Ward's brand. I guess it's obscure-ish.

A sketch with a Sheaffer Junior 14K nib that I put on this old Weidlich, which, happens to just have a new rollstop installed in place of its missing clip.

    Beautiful. Love that rollstop!

    I've been trying washes, too.

This one was a previously posted sketch I just applied some water to. Yes, the Rhodia doesn't take water very well.

This is new. Slightly better wettability, still not ideal.
