Mh, I tried to create a kind of from-shallow-water-to-depth-effect by cross-hatching with blue and back ink...epic...fail!

How to create an effect like that:
It is only a failure if you give up! I have no clue how to achieve that effect. Kudos for giving it a go. Not sure I want to attempt that at the moment.

+1 That is a very nice drawing
0.5mm vs 0.7mm graphite sizes is much like 9mm vs 45acp...they both work if you know what you are doing. - me
Looking for Caran d'Ache Type 55 2mm set and Rotation .7 pencils.

Thanks, I had a hard time with it. She has a right eye (from viewers perspective) that look good in the photo but as soon as I tried getting it on paper it went wrong. This was the third version.
Now I going to take on some more loose drawings, I have some ideas how to use my crosshatching. Warming up for inktober

Sketch with a double sided nib (fine vs double broad). Black Quink on aquarell paper:

Thank you.
Well, it‘s not as creative as your sketches. It was rather a test run for this nib I made.
...and this drawing isn't much more creative either but I think that it's funny because I scaled the famous Rhino by AD to Post-it size:

You certainly master the hatching. Thank you for such beautiful art.

I keep on trying, this time with my new one. But it wasn´t house-clean, it peed on the paper...
Now, after doodling and a diary entry, it writes well.
