I got a message back from TWSBI asking for a picture. I suspect that confirms it is a flaw.

That is surprising. I've contacted them a couple times before and they've always replied quickly, as they did this time. Btw, here is a picture of the very small flaw in the plastic of my Mini's cap.

Despite it only being a very small/minor flaw, TWSBI is going to send me a new cap. One more example of their fabulous customer service.

Wow! That is not good. Where on the barrel and how bad?

And I thought TWSBI was going to take care of all these cracking issues.

That is a serious crack. You didn't accidentally drop it or bang it?

I did a 4 foot drop test on to a linoleum floor...that shouldn't have done anything--especially after seing how well twsbi's new material performed in their videos...although that was a different kind of stress.

No problem...I always do drop tests The nib, as expected, had some ink droplets on it, but the gripping section remained ink-less. The pen does get dried ink on the o-ring from time to time...quite annoying for someone like me who HATES ink on hands!

I'm sure they will replace your barrel. But if the Minis start having the same problems as the 540s...that won't be good.

I agree. A TWSBI with their QC and design under control would be a huge deal.

That does surprise me as I've always received a reply in less than a day. I should add that all my correspondence with them has been through ebay.

I wouldn't worry yet, but if you don't hear back in another day, email them again.
