    Default From a different world...

    Hey guys!!
    Nice to meet 'yinz (Pittsburgh..lol)

I'm new to the fountain pen habbit, hobby, addiction...
So far I managed to acquire a few cheapies: Jinhao x450, Jinhao 159, Pilot Metropolitan
    A few midrange's: Monteverde Limonada, Lamy Al-Star
A few nice one's: Karas Kustoms INK, Lamy 2000
and a few Vintage ones: Scheaffer Valiant, Esterbrook J

It's a start, probably nothing compared to some of you guys, but I'm still learning.
I come from the wonderful world of knives! Ever since my grandfather gave me my first pocket knife I was addicted. I'm still pretty heavily into them but spreading my wings (and spreading my wallet).
Have a look at my pride and joy. A Chris Reeve Large Regular Sebenza. Love this knife, it's the one I'll never sell (unless I can get an older, rarer version with BG42 steel).
    Thanks for having me folks!

Welcome home. Pull up a stump and set a spell.

Knives be nice. Here's one from Joe Pardue:

    Very nice sir!!
I've owned so many.. buy, sell, buy sell, etc..
I guess I've just narrowed down to my favorite ones to carry. I imagine I'll do the same with pens until I have my favorite small collection.
    Thanks!!

Welcome. I'm newish here, too, but similar cross-over interests. Nice Sebenza--as is Mr. Pardue's, BTW. A little out of reach for me, though.

That said, I'd probably put down for a Kustom Karas if I could ever find them in stock when I'm thinking to look for them. How do you like the INK? Would you be willing to post a writing sample and your thoughts? Thanks either way!

Welcome!! Lots of nice and knowledgeable people here. Both hobbies are fun (and, alas, bank account draining). I grew up near the land o' Case knives and spend some time drooling over their creations. Enjoy!

Howdy! I've collected knives since I was 8 years old. I'm an old Hillbilly and you get a pocket knife as soon as you can be trusted to be safe with it. Personally I'm into Spyderco, Benchmade Lum, Bark River, and believe or not the Becker knives. The Becker Necker, meant to be worn around the neck on a chain, being a personal favorite. I convex all my knives and use a combo of hand lapping and belt sanders for sharpening.

you are not alone lol heck i moderate a knife forum. i have found a lot of crossover on the forums that i visit..whether it be knives, guns, cars, pens, watches or other gear..seems like we all like the same things.

Welcome! I see you've already got quite a collection.

BTW I'm from Westmoreland County where we say you'uns instead of yinz. Yinz is just plain wrong.
I can tell where I'm not wanted.

Someday that'll be on my tombstone.
