    Default Future Al-Star colours ?

Looking at bphollin's photo of his Al-Stars over at FPN, I was thinking about a possible colour for 2013.
    http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php?/topic/22180-lamy-safari-colours/page__view__findpost__p__2504835

    dark green
    black
    yellow or gold or champagne
a proper dark purple unlike the Shiraz
orange as distinct from the exisiting Raspberry
    sky blue

And for a big thrill Lamy should introduce a cheap flexible nib with it.

thanks Brandonh, nice Al-Star collection you've accumulated.

Your silver-blue actually looks silver-blue not silver-lilac like mine.

No need to guess any more. Thanks to Dan's update:

    http://fpgeeks.com/2013/01/the-lamy-al-star-pearl-is-the-new-color-for-2013/

By a strectch one of the guesses was correct:
    yellow or gold or champagne

I thought it would be a metallic pearl white (like the Studio) but it appears very champagne-ish with a pink tinge in colour from the photo.

Looking forward to seeing it in the metal. Another Al-Star to add to the collection.

KMPN's blog has some more pictures f the new Al-Star. Not having the slight pinkish tone of the previous image, more of a silver golden brown look this time. This LE will probably look radically different depending on the light and background. http://kmpn.blogspot.com.au/2013/02/...earl-2013.html He also has a post indicating the Graphite Al-Star is being discontinued this year.

InkNouveau has a video of the pen.

    http://www.inknouveau.com/2013/02/la...-for-2013.html

As Snedwos commented this pen would go really well with a black nib.

Also worth watching just for Brian & Rachel's matching Pontiac Azteks! Must have been a buy-one-get-one-free deal.

It is most definitely a black ink pen!
"What are moon-letters?" asked the hobbit full of excitement. He loved maps, as I have told you before; and he also loved runes and letters, and cunning handwriting, though when he wrote himself it was a bit thin and spidery.

Saw a couple of "Pearl Champagne" the local shop today. It looked very pale gold in their lighting.

    The Pearl Champagne arrived yesterday

Perhaps pearl refers to the finish not just the colour. There seems to be a very subtle effect on the two flat sides of the body that looks like the inside of an oystershell, sort of like the lines of a contour map. I can't say I've noticed this on my other Al-Stars.

Under the neon lights at work the colour appears more an olive silver !

I saw a tweet or twit yesterday evening from Goulet Pens advising Lamy weren't going to to do any more production runs of the Pearl Al-Star !

I got mine, and agree with those who say it's more of a chanpagne color. VERY nice, though.

Funny thing, I collect German pens but have no Lamy, wish they were piston fill. But after I saw the tweet about this color being retired I ordered one! It's the only current color that interests me! So first Lamy on its way.

Went with a silver 1.1 stub. In modern stiff nibs the only thing I can stand are stubs. We'll see, very few nibs newer than the late 50s that I actually like. So if I really like this pen it'll be a coup! But the champagne/pearl color was just too tempting!

Just discovered a new partner for your Chacoal Safari a Black Al-Star SE with black clip & nib.

Geez they are a bit mean with the nib selection F & M !

I better try and find where I can order one before the SithPenLord calls them all over to the DarkSide.

My Pearl Al-Star arrived. It'd really fit into that pen tray at the top of this thread, a pleasing set of colors that.

It is my first Lamy and one of my few modern pens so it is a bit of an adjustment. I'll repeat my review from the FPB in the Lamy section here if anyone is interested.
