Oxblood vs Salix
The first bottled ink I have aquirred is Oxblood. So can anyone tell me how Salix flows compared to oxblood? Thanks for any answers.

Re: Oxblood vs Salix
Expect Salix to be quite a bit drier and slightly less lubricated; by no means a problem, but your nibs may feel different: slightly more feedback (like a soft pencil on drafting paper) and sometimes a bit dragging compared to a well-lubricated ink like Oxblood. I personally like that feeling, especially with nibs that otherwise are super glassy smooth. Also, Salix is less prone to bleedthrough and feathering on cheaper paper.
Enjoy!
BTW, R&K "Scabiosa" behaves much like "Salix", and the two are mixable.

Yea they are both iron gall. Or pseudo iron gall. Thanks. And I'm not worried about all the "iron gall will liquefy your pen!" Stuff.
