I'd say fake the box isn't correct for a higher end sonnet they should normally come in a substantial clam shell box however this isn't doesn't necessarily make it fake. A Sonnet such as the Tartan should first of should be made of sterling Silver and have a 18k nib. I'll add some more detail in another post.

The devil really is in the detail with these pens. The Tartan pen should have a two tone 18k nib however that one doesn't. The sonnet's a commonly faked pens so there's quite a lot written on this so I'd take a look at these links below that show how similar fake pens can be to the real thing. I wouldn't go off the feedback of the seller either as these fakes are really very well made and you could easily assume the pen is genuine if you didn't now what you were looking for.

Also I don't think Parker ever made a gold plated Tartan Sonnet see:

Steel nib, gold plated. Price seems low for these pens. That said, I have had enough issues with the twenty-five Sonnets I have that they aren't worth messing with. Prices for new ones are a lot higher than these pens, which ought to tell you something.

I guess I ordered it in a moment of madness but I was willing to take the risk. After some consideration I did send the seller a message asking about authenticity and they offered to cancel the order.
We can draw our own conclusions either the seller has outstanding customer service or was unsure about the origin of the pens. I prefer to think the former.

Did you go ahead in the end or did you cancel it? Intriguing to know if they are genuine or not. Unfortunately I suspect not.
