    Default Sailor Rikyu Cha

Some years ago a student brought me a bottle of Sailor Rikyu Cha ink from Japan and it was my instant favorite. I bought a second bottle, not realizing that it was a limited edition, and was dismayed when it sold out. I have been nursing a half bottle for a while now.
I get the importance thing, but it is my favorite ink, after all.

Then I read about a limited release in Japan only, and thought, "maybe I should ask one of my students who is visiting Japan . . ." but forgot to do that. She emailed me two days later asking if I would like anything.

Long story short: she was able to fund ONE bottle of Rikyu Cha, and brought it to me.

    Happy Camper.

It is a good teacher who receives such appreciation from their students.

Fabulous! I like it better than Cigar and managed to get a couple of bottles recently to add to my original one.

I asked Atsu, ebay seller 'cool-japan', if he could get Rikyu-cha a while ago, but since he's been selling his Sailor inks as '21tgif' at auction, I'm not sure if he will sell them at fixed prices anymore.

Good news, thank you for posting. The orange one looks interesting, too, and the red, and the one called Chu-Shu. And maybe some others.

I hope someone will let us know when they are available for purchase.

Very good news, and widely predicted after the recent 'market feelers' put out by Sailor. I still have my originals plus a few recent top-ups, such as Kin-mokusi, irori and rikyu-cha. Lovely inks.
A few of us have also been speculating about whether, despite what they're saying, that some current Four Season inks may be discontinued again in the near future. I'll be buying one or two more of my favourites, just in case.

Thank you for that. It's good news. Hopefully that means it will be available within the UK at a reasonable price. I'm glad I just decided to be patient and wait rather than pay some ridiculously high price.

I wonder if Jentle Kin-Mokusei will be the same as Jentle Apricot?

No, it's a different shade. Unless they change it.

The prices for the bottles released earlier this year weren't ridiculously high at all. Hardly more than a Kobe ink.

I don't think I paid anything more than 1,080 yen for any bottle of the reissued inks either.

I was never able to get a less expensive re-issued bottle that was restricted to Japan, and the ridiculously high prices I mentioned were these ones that Atsu and a US seller sold on ebay

Nor do I know how much they ever cost in Japanese yen.

I got mine from Japan, with relative ease. Delivered both to UK and Aus. Others seem to have managed to get hold of them from outside Japan too, at reasonable prices; probably via various routes.

The eBay high prices for some inks is the same as for other inks with limited availability, like Mb LEs, some Edelsteins, Sheaffers, S T Dupont etc etc etc. and are just a reflection that bidders missed the original boat, so to speak. Market forces are ever thus. I suspect when you buy your Mb LEs, for example, you just pay list price, as I did for the Sailor.

It would seem sensible to check shop prices in yen. I wouldn't pay in GBP, AUS$ or US$ without knowing what the yen price is first.

Anyway, it's all a moot point. Happily it seems everyone will be able to get them soon, which is great.

Do you mean that you've heard that Sailor will soon be distributing these inks internationally?

Word is that it seems likely that they may be added to, or replace some existing inks, in the Sailor Jentle Four Seasons ink range.
