import duty on vac mini

Hi to all members in the UK.
I recently ordered a vac mini on the Twsbi website and the pen arrived via fedex shipping very fast at my house. No qualms with that. today I received an invoice from fedex stating the pen was shipped from the US. consequently I now have an additional cost of £19.95 to pay which is 7.95 in VAT and 12 in admin charge. this is getting rather expensive and if I had known it, this pen would not have been ordered. Just be aware of this.

Maybe buying from within the UK could have been cheaper in the long run, but then of course, none of us know that at the time. Not trying to teach you how to suck eggs, of course, just a comment from one who has been 'bitten' before and is not shy for the experience!
