Efj3 good concise review. I didn't notice too much of a smell .... I'll have to have another sniff.
It is easy on the eyes when reading large chunks of text written in it.
Tiananmen is a nice dark red which shades quite well.
The bottle also has an interesting label.

Nice shading there! The 1.1 should make it shade even more.

I got a sample in my November Ink Drop. Used it for my art work submission for the contest: Autumn Colors. I actually liked the Cayenne a bit more than the Tiananamen. Different reds of course.

The Cayenne is pretty great. The more time I spend using it, the more I like it. The shading on the Cayenne is great in my Lamy Medium nib without being distracting, I have a review written up that I'll be posting shortly!

efj3, if you want shading then Noodler's Apache Sunset has it in spades.
Cayenne is a great colour although I like Habanero being slightly lighter and a cleaner looking colour whilst still being readable.

Thanks! I'll definitely make a note for my next batch of samples.

How does it compare to, say, Diamine Crimson, or Red Dragon? because for me, those would be significantly cheaper -- Noodler's is expensive in Britain. Cuz I really love my sample...
"What are moon-letters?" asked the hobbit full of excitement. He loved maps, as I have told you before; and he also loved runes and letters, and cunning handwriting, though when he wrote himself it was a bit thin and spidery.

Unfortunately I haven't tried out either of those.
