Default Richard Mille RMS05 Fountain Pen.. Only $105,000

    Hi all,

Just came across this article at Uncrate.

If you're not familiar with the Richard Mille wristwatches (the tourbillon), this pen stands for only third of the price.

I'm not big fan of overly priced FPs, but there are some interesting features with this pen.
Like, extending the nib (18k of course) with the push of a button. Or, reset and rewound the movement (yes, it comes with a watch built right inside the barrel) when capped.
    Also, the material looks amazing.

Again, i will never consider buying a piece like this, but it is interesting.

You can review the pen also on Richard Mille's website, here.

I can't imagine what materials or even workmanship could justify that price.

Finally someone has put the two together (watch technology in a pen). If only it weren't so exclusive. Maybe, just maybe, this thinking will trickle down? (I say this as it would seem there are countless ways to make fountain pens more practical through mechanical complications.)

I guess most of the cost is for the watch movement.. I do agree with you, it's just too much!

    The technology is very intriguing.
When capped it reset and rewound the movement.. That's just fascinating by it's own.

    Yes...it IS fascinating.....yet....
For that same $105,000 --- I could buy a DOZEN top-end Omas pens....
    And ONE SUPER Rolex!!
To each his own...I'm not worried one way or t'other....I don't anticipate a hundred grand dropping into my bank account anytime soon.....!!

Always try to get the dibs....on fountain pens with EF nibs!!

Does it have an alarm that when you post the cap it wakes you up?

If I were 10,000 times wealthier than I am, so that a $105,000 purchase was like a $10.50 purchase is for me now, would I still object on principle to paying $105,000 for a pen? I think that I would, but it's unlikely that I'll ever know.

Anyway, it is interesting, if nothing else. Now he should work with Pilot to produce a special edition Vanishing Point.

I am not a fan of RM watches I have even tried a few on before. Just to much but I have to admit that pen is cool! Not worth the money but it looks awesome!

I like it. If money were no object, I'd buy it, then I'd screw it by trying to take it apart for cleaning.
