Default Help! Can't get ink to flow

So I got my monteverde K2 and I inserted a cartridge and nothing. So I opened pen up and gave it a squeeze, and the ink seem to flow from the back of the nib. I tried to write again and nothing. What am I doing wrong

Did you give the nib unit a cleaning first?
My other pen is a Montblanc.

And my other blog is a tumblr!

    Patience.

First, let the pen sit nib down and swaddled in a paper napkin for about five minutes. See if that helps. Don't squeeze cartridges, great way to mess stuff up.

Good advice here. One of the advantages of using a converter and bottled ink is that the act of submerging nib and feed in ink gets things primed and going instantly. A cartridge can take a while to work the ink down to the writing surface of the nib. I'd leave it nib down for a while and then try again, likely that'll solve the issue.

My Monteverde pens all behaved the same way with a cartridge. Using a converter and bottled ink solved the problem.
