    Default Hi from England!

    Hello FPG's!

I've dipped my toes (not in ink) in the forum and decided to jump in. I have lost myself in all types of threads here and discovered way too many pens to add to my current 'Wishful Inking' list.

My pen collection is small but has every intention of becoming a much larger family in the future.

    Current pens are:
Lamy 2000 (my first!) - EF
    Sailor 1911 Young - F
    Waterman Expert III - EF
Waterman Perspective Blue Obession - EF
    Pilot Metropolitan - F
    Pilot Cavalier - F
    Pilot Elite 95S - EF

My little experience so far has led me to believe that I lean towards Japanese nibs, preferring a finer nib.

    Next, I dabble with inks!

Looking forward to enjoying more of this forum and sharing pen-joyment in all your discoveries, knowledge and expertise.

Welcome Vanessa! You have some really nice pens there - Congratulations! So, what color inks do you think you will lean more toward?

Thank you, Anne. To be honest, I haven't got past black ink yet or flushing a pen for the first time. I did buy some Edelstein Amethyst and Topaz and Diamine Oxblood, Sherwood Green - since I visit Sherwood Forest often, it seemed appropriate - and Ancient Copper. I like the look of Edelstein Amber too. Like pens, there are so many inks to choose from and I'm looking forward to exploring some along the way and seeing which pens suit which inks.

Welcome home. Pull up a stump and set a spell. Interestingly, vintage UK nibs seem to run broader than similar age US or European nibs.

Well, you have some decent colors there to start with and it should be a lot of fun to figure out which ones you favor. Just be warned: it might very well be All of them

Thank you for the welcome, jar, and for sharing that interesting fact. I had no idea how UK nibs compare.

Yes, I need to learn to take good care of my pens and flush them properly and then I'll be on my way... to a side addiction of inks. *grins*

You have not succeeded until you do finally get ink on your toes.

Hi Vanessa, I'm new here too.I lived in Leeds before I came to Japan. I still consider it home. Sad to say I've never been to Nottingham, but that beach looks tempting. Every city should have one.
