Welcome Vanessa, just to let you know that a group on FPN were arranging meetings in Nottingham.

I know nothing about them but appear to be quite friendly.
Vanessa!
I suppose you know that as you are from the UK that you immediately sustain the level of goddess!
I have had the privilege to travel to England and Scotland many times and wish I lived there along with my wife, chihuahua, and Sony AV55 camera! What a joy it would be to live in a place as you do!
Enjoy us. Please let us know how we can help you.

Hi! Oh you have moved closer to some of my current favourite pens! I'm a sucker for a fine Japanese nib. Ah there's nothing like a city beach... only one hop to a tram/bus and home before you can shake the sand out!
Modesty only permits that I improve somewhat slightly after morning tea...although that could be all in my mind.
These green lands are being watered as I type! I always think the mist over a Scottish loch is enchanting and lends it an air of mystery but am embarrassed to say, I have not seen one in person! Yet.
Thank you... and know that I am intrigued by your avatar.
Thank you all for making me feel very welcome here!
Hi Vanessa,
Welcome!! There are many nice and knowledgeable people here, enjoy!!
I like your selection of inks, as I own many of them (Edelstein Amethyst and Topaz, I also own Sapphire......Diamine Ancient Copper, Sherwood Green, and Prussian Blue). I am also a fan of Japanese Inks (Iroshizuku), as they have some vibrant colors.
KR,
Walt
Thank you, Walt, I could lose a week glancing at threads here, never mind wandering all the way into them. I plan on touring the forum a lot in my free time.
Iroshizuku is definitely an ink selection I would like to get to know better, has some fantastic shades from posts that I've seen!
I'll add my hello from Nottingham!
Morning tea is the great clarifyer! :0) My Avatar is a Wooten Desk. They are unique and someday I will actually own one instead of just a photo! :0)
We are here to help in any way my lass!
Please post some photos of your pen collection when you have an opportunity to do so! Would love to see it...!
My compliments,
Richard

Welcome aboard, Serendipity. I'm new here too and finding this to be a very friendly, easygoing place. The fountain pen addiction is very easy to acqire. I managed to go from two pens in 2013 to around 60 today. There is a world of inks out there too. I bought some Diamine Sherwood Green a few years ago and it is my absolute favourite green. Just received a Pelikan M800 that came with a surprise bottle of Edelstein Sapphire. Just dipped it to try and it is a gorgeous deep purple/blue. I'm currently exploring all the Japanese inks, and there are lots of them. Have fun on your fountain pen journey.
Incidentally, I just binge read all 10 or 11 of John Harvey's Charlie Resnick crime novels which just happen to be set in Nottingham. Cheers.
