Fountainpenkid - if you want to do lunch I'm up for it. We can share pens. I'm the lady with the over the shoulder blue leather bag. I inked up some pens with bung box inks for others to try. Meet around 1230? If anyone else wants to join us for lunch, more the merrier
Honestly for the area I would agree.

Long Island and especially that part of Nassau county is packed on a Saturday night.

I was really hoping to invade the Marriott lobby/bar area as that seems to always work well. I think this is the only show thats not at a hotel.

    FYI

Fountain Pen Hospital will have the famous $50 parts bags this year. These bags have some real treasure sometimes !!! If you can beat Brain Anderson to the table you might find some left.

    AND

Franklin Christoph will be attending !!! Jim Rouse is going to be setting up and going it alone but there will be photo-type pens.

Oh no, sorry we didn't meet! I was there from about 10a to 3:30!

Great show, great crowd, great conversations.
Didn't pick up any pens but I did get ink from The Andersons and got a fantastic architect nib grind on my ASA Writer from Josh Lax - the newest nib grinder on the scene!

We did 'meet,' by a weird six-degrees-of-separation thingie: I was filling out the contact forms, and glanced at the end of the table, and someone had written your name.

    Cue Twilight Zone music.

Darn it! I was hoping to run into you, although how I would have known it was you is a good question...

I did get to meet up for a few minutes with Crazy Orange who very patiently let me show her every single thing I got in my four bags of parts from Fountain Pen Hospital... CO, you have a gold star on your crown in heaven for that!

Overall a very nice day and everyone was very kind. Anyone nearby who is wondering if it's worth it I'd say yes, run on over tomorrow and you will not be sorry!

I now regret not buying a bag of those FPH parts! the crowd this year was HUGE. I didn't attend last year, but compared to the year before that...yikes. Did people get a free bag and mags last year? I thought that was pretty cool.

Not in any way a complaint, but I wonder why the show is held at Hofstra, and not the nearby Marriott.

The crowd was huge. Last years wasn't as busy. Loved the bag too. Bummed we didn't meet up.

The gentleman who runs the show retired from the university and gets a special rate on the room.

    Ok...here's mine. Not very exciting.

Franklin Christoph 66 in a red/pink acrylic. It has a 14k f nib. I bought a second nib modified by Jim (of Franklin Christoph). It's a medium architect grind. Jim also does another grind called a stubilic (sp?) - something between a stub and an italic.

3 bottles of DA document ink from the Anderson's. I can use water colors with this ink when I draw. Plus mixing is fun.

Otherwise I spent the whole day talking. Chatty Cathy.

Sorry,,, yea,.,, we need some "what I got pics"

OK ~ I got my free copy of Pen World of course, Montblanc Golden Yellow, Omas Sepia, and Snow Blind field notes~ missing from the pic, I got that from the Anderson's ~ Then i got a homemade candle from Sarah Erano, Pauls daughter who came with him for the weekend, AND the nib is a broad 18k nib for my Visconti HS that I have wanted forever and Paul got 1 unit so i snagged it to replace the 1.3 stub ~ Dream Touch which is nice but I wanted the older 18k Visconti nib.

The Edelstein Adventurine I got from Ed Jelley who dropped it off to me. He was not a fan of it but I was so it was an easy deal lol.

I also scored a pen on my way out the door. A Scriptorium that Mario from "Toys from the Attic" had.

PS ~ I will post a bunch of show photos in a new thread so the "loot" pics won't get buried.

Lets see some more pics !!!
