I showed my daughter (she's eleven) the part of the article where it says that the 10-year old girl has 3 fountain pens. She (my daughter) frowned and said: "How come I only have one..."

Yeah! Why does she only have one?

Yeah! Why does she only have one?
She helped me catalog all the pens that I bought, restore, and sell (it's part of her learning Excel spreadsheet).
Plus she knew that one day all the fountain pens in the house will belong to her.

Besides, between Star Wars phone cases, Vera Bradley purses, and baking cakes, she doesn't really think about fountain pens that often

"They’re not just historical curiosities – the design these days is vastly improved, and sales are increasing"

Well 'improved' is subjective, I'm still vintage leaning.

I agree. My Parker 51 aero is proving much more reliable than my TWSBI Vac mini, whose ink shutoff valve can't compensate for the bad nib assembly design.
