Hey, what do you think is the closest to black a blue black ink can get? Something that can be hard to see the blue but it's possible to see if you try. As always, I am thankful for anyone taking the time to help. You guys are awesome.

Probably not what you were looking for, but I'll start with KWZ iron gall Blue-Black. Give it a few hours to a couple of days and this Blue-Black oxidizes *sometimes* to exactly what you mentioned, "Something that can be hard to see the blue but it's possible to see if you try."
Otoh I used the term "sometimes" because the oxidation that blackens KWZ Blue-Black, ends up offering a surprising gamut of color variation. Sometimes it ends up showing quite a lot of blue, other times less. Its still one of my fav B-B's.

ESSRI will do that, as will Diamine Registrars.
Online arguments are a lot like the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
As soon as the audience begins to participate, any actual content is lost in the resulting chaos and cacophony.
At that point, all you can do is laugh and enjoy the descent into debasement.

I've mixed something that I like, from Aurora Blue:Aurora Black at 3:1 in that order. My next one will be 4:1 and I'd like just a tiny bit more blue to show.
Probably, any blue & black would do but I'd suggest using the same make of ink and of course, it's all down to a bit of experimentation! Small pipettes using just drops of each colour is the easiest and cheapest way to mix the inks, for any tests not only B-B.

Diamine 1864 Blue Black looks almost black. It only appears to be Blue Black if you put it right next to black ink or in a very dry pen.
It is a lot like Sailor Doyou in that way. It only appears to be something other than black if you so check it against black.

Consider R&K Leipziger Schwartz.
Sent from my constipated POS computer at work.
I agree with R & K L-S or Noodler's black or heart of darkness.

Parker black is a *very* dark blue-black. You only see the blue with pens that promote shading, but it's there.

So many restoration projects...
Phiden Leap of Faith is blue/black/black with a bit more of black.

This is exactly why I use a lot of Bungu Box Silent Night.
I would suggest Bungubox 4B Blue Black.
