Default Plunger Position While Storing Pens

I dusted off my FPs (and am soaking them to clean them as well) after a long hibernation and I have too many to have them all on active duty, inked up and ready to write. I wonder if it makes a difference how I set the plunger fill mechanism, set to the plunger back or plunger forward...or somewhere in the middle? These are the filler cartridges with the twist-fill mechanism.

    Suggestions?

    Thanks.

My two cents: Never knowing how long a pen may be stored, I keep my piston fillers with the plunger almost but not quite all the way in either direction. This is so that if the plunger were to become a bit stiff to move, then it could be wiggled in either direction to help it dislodge.
