Default Stub, cursive italic variations on the Oblique nib?

I'm interested in and really enjoy my vintage Pelikan oblique medium, which I believe is close to 22.5°. Any thought on variants on the oblique nibs? Steeper angles?

I believe obliques can be custom ground to different angles.

A custom ground nib can be whatever angle you like. I believe Mr. Mottishaw said that the old Pelikan obliques after which he models my grinds are 25 to 30 degrees. I could probably dig up his email if you want the exact angle.

Anything between 20 and 30 degrees is comfortable for me. I prefer italics, and I rotate my pen so I have all my italics ground as obliques as well. The combination works very well if your grip naturally needs an oblique if it does not the oblique adds nothing really of value to an italic grind.

(Those antique oblique Pelikans are some of the best nibs ever produced in the world, if its 1950s era do not ever let it go.)

Current pen rotation: way too many!

Also Left Foot vs. Right Foot.
Some like left foot, I tried but could not get used to a left foot oblique. I think a right foot oblique would be better for me.

    Thanks for the informative post.

Double checking, my 50's Pelikan 400 om is probably a 25° oblique. It produces architect nib-like line variation, along with easy semi-flex on down strokes.
