Default Considering a Wahl-Everrsharp vintage daily writer

Probably a really nice Decoband fine or extra-fine, but one with nice flex. I should probably look for a restored pen from a trusted seller, to hopefully eliminate unforeseen issues.

Any recommendations for good sellers? There are a couple I'm interested in at Pensbury Manor-- sent a inquiry this morning, but not sure how up to date their inventory is maintained.

I have very limited experience, but I would recommend Ron Zorn, who sells vintage pens as well as repairing them, or Peyton Street pens, without reservation.

I've purchased from Ron at Pen shows - he has gone out of his way to sell me what I needed, only what I needed, and he clearly knows what he is doing. I have recently had incredible, over the top, completely exceeding expectations service from Teri at Peyton Street pens, and that included something mailed to me. Both are extremely well respected in the online pen community and either one would be a good choice, if they have what you want.

This is no slur whatsoever on any other vendor! There are a number of very fine and reputable sources for restored vintage pens out there, and I'm sure you will get recommendations for them as well. I am merely confining my rec to people with whom I have recently done business so that I can speak from firsthand knowledge.

Thanks for the recommendations. I'd forgotten about Peyton St. Pens.

Syd "The Wahlnut" Saperstein is a GOOD guy. And he is the primary sponsor of the SF Pen Show.
If Syd is traveling, he might be delayed in getting back to you. But this is no different than most of the small pen dealers.

Teri at Peyton Street pen is also a GOOD gal.

I would not have any problem ordering from either.

BUT, I would not be using a flex pen as my daily writer. Unless flex writing is what you usually do. The reason is, flex writing is SLOW. I think my normal writing is SLOW, flex writing is even SLOWER. I will use a flex nib dip pen for writing letters. But then I don't care how long it takes me to write a letter to a pen pal, which I am delinquent of right now.

Thanks for the info AC12. Syd actually responded to my questions yesterday afternoon. He's definitely a heavy hitter when it comes to W-E.

SF is probably the only pen show that I could possibly take in. We'll see how my schedule develops, but I'm not too hopeful.

If you have very specific instructions, I'm 99% sure I'm going to the SF show, I can pick things up for you and/or IM/snapchat you as I browse. (Yay technology? LOL)
