Combining the Eye of Ra and Horus traditional drawings digitally (which most likely took me more time than creating both analog drawings together).

I recently picked up a Kaweco Supra with the thought of using the body of the pen as art. The idea was to force a patina on the brass and then use some type of coating to lock the patina in place. Not sure what coating to use though. Here is the first attempt. I'll will probably let a natural patina develop a bit further, but I like this so far.

I received a new toy, a Sailor Fude De Mannen 55 Degree pen.
With the following sketches I tried to get used to it.

I have to say, this is really an interesting sketch pen.
It lays down a generous amount of ink, enough to support also the very broad strokes.
It writes with a very thin line if you use it up side down.
It is in no way scratchy and pleasantly to use.
I think it will take some practice to really master it as you have to work with different angles of holding it.

I don´t think I would use this pen to write with.
Writing with it just produce very uniform unattractive fat lines similar using a ordinary sharpie style pen.

As English is not my first language, the first thing I´m thinking when I hear "Bird of Prey" is something like that:

This damn thing took me much much longer than expected, especially the coloration.
    nice work.
    ever tried a Surface Pro?

about 15 years ago I started a series of studies as I wanted to further explore the painting techniques of the Masters....
did this one about 11 years ago...
    dont like it too much.
plan to redo it before I get too old to hold a brush...

I've started a little Black & White sketchbook. Nothing serious or too precious. I'm enjoying making some simple pen & ink doodles each day. It frees me up from the dreaded "Blank Page" mind block.

The woman’s face is part collage (cut from a magazine) and part doodle. I saw her photo and thought she was just beautiful. I wish I had the skill to draw her! :-)
