Finally got to ditch the 0.05mm fineliner and draw with my fountain pen at my life drawing class today This is a 30min pose drawn with my new Xxxf nib on twsbi vac700r with de atramentis black document ink on an A4 sketchbook. Then gone over with water and acrylic ink aqua in brush pens to lay down the tones.

I received new 2mm leads, this time Staedtler Mars Lumochrom Red (currently used in a Staedtler Mars Technico 780 which I really like).
They do not break as easy as the Koh-I-Noor ones (but are much more expensive), which are reallly brittle (have the blue ones).

I´m not yet sure if I really like sketching in red.
It feels that the value range which can be received is smaller than using blue leads, and I´m not sure if I like this.
I might try the blue Steadtler ones after the Koh-I-Noors depleted (and they break quite a lot, but feel really nice using them).

    This week Dojo sketch.

I tried something new for me.

My son got a 24 piece Jaxon Oil Pastels box on Easter (from me and to be honest I bought them because I also wanted to try them ), which I borrowed from him today.

And I have to admit that I´m really impressed.
These oil pastels have nothing in common with the wax crayons I used decades back in school, and I always hated wax crayons.

These oil pastels are really awesome, I like them.
They are very soft and creamy, they can easily be smudged using a tortillion.

Nice. I love oil pastels. They blend nicely and are wonderful to work with. You can even use some colored pencil and do pastels over it. Oooh that is some hungry plant!!!

No skills exhibited here, but a great sunny day after working on sprinklers and other assorted lawn chores, so grabbed the TWSBI and Field Notes Dime Novel and had some relaxing time.

Me too!! Got the t-shirts to prove it. (Off topic, got to see it big screen when a local theater screened a bunch of Miyazaki -- in that format it was absolutely stunning and magical)

    Yeah, the movie is awesome.

Recently I saw "Arrietty" with my junior, which was also not a bad one, but I had to admit that I liked "The Borrowers" with John Goodman more.

I plan to watch "Spirited Away" the next days with my son (never saw it before).

The Ghibli movies are somehow special, even I do not like anime in general.
