Here is my latest pencil drawing.
Last evening I started to scribble with my woodless pencils in a new Winsow Newton 170gsm A4 sketchbook.
Afterwards I gave it a light watercolor wash.

Glad to see you back on Suzy!

Some great pics as always Ptero.

Here's a quick sketch for fun.

1930s Balance, EF; Sailor Storia Lion Light Brown pigmented ink. (Yes, I know, I will be careful to clean out the Balance soon so it doesn't clog up )

I am really, really liking this ink. It is sort of like that Kaweco Sunrise Orange mystery Ink from last year but it seems to flow better and shades darker and is somehow more satisfying to use.

I liked how the Orc turned out, so I´ve created another pencil drawing with a light finishing watercolor wash.

My latest pencil sketch from today.
I saw a docu about the insanity of witch hunts and how stupid and fanatic people were in the name of religion not so long ago (and still are in some parts of the world).

This inspired me to draw a witch which serve all the common cliches like sexiness, red hair, flying a broom, .....

I tried to stay loose with my strokes even from the beginning and finished the sketch with some water color accents.

Some could think that right after finishing a demanding and exhausting Inktober the next drawing might take a while.
But surprisingly it was really fun to make this drawing, especially because there was no prompt to follow and no given finishing date.

I tried to draw Pepe in an elegant pose as gigolo.

Chrissy, this might be interesting for you as you are searching for a new bright white sketch book.
The drawing was made using my Winsor Newton Heavy Weight A4 Sketch book (170g/m2).
I like this smooth bright white paper quite a lot, and normally it behaves really good also using wet techniques, but with some (fountain pen) inks it has some troubles when you apply them really wet and not diluted.
Like with the Diamine Oxblood, it bled and feathered which was quite anoying.
So this paper is not always behave perfect using fountain pen ink.

Nevertheless I´m quite pleased with the result.

Really nice! If Chrissy is looking for an awesome fountain pen sketchbook I really like my Seawhite of Brighton casebound one. I used the winsor and newton for a while (did a whole year of life drawing in it) but for fountain pen and fineliner found the drawing experience better with the Seawhite.

Thanks Suzy, I will take a look.

This time a watercolor painting after so many ink pieces.
Again in my Winsor Newton Heavy Weight 170g/m2 Sketchbook.

The paper hold up quite well considering the many layers and the heavy water usage.
Of course there is a difference to real (thicker) watercolor paper, but this paper is really usable gushing a lot of water on it.

With watercolor I never observed any bleeding/feathering problem so far, compared to the problematic behaviour with some inks.

I do like Diamine Oxblood as an ink...an ink I have a devil of a time locating. I notice Suzy used it in her Viking long boat drawing.

..... just for the notes, it was my Viking long boat.

And again something done with fountain pen inks.
This time a anatomy study painting of a foot.
I sketched with a Pelikan 400NN - F with Diamine Oxblood to start, afterwards I painted with a brush.

The painting was done in a Strathmore 400 Toned Gray A5 sketchbook.
This paper has only 118g/m2 but for me it´s an all purpose paper, one of my favorite papers ever.
No matter how you use it, dry or wet it always perform great, even if you gush tons of ink and water on it in many layers (which was for sure not an intended usecase initially).

    I just love that paper
